“ODI BI ’LO YAGO!” — THE MATO MOVEMENT IS GATHERING MOMENTUM ACROSS ONDO SOUTH

“Bi o’lo, odi yago!” a popular Yoruba expression which, in this context, can be loosely interpreted as “If you are not ready to go, please pave the way for me.”
That appears to be the political mood in Ondo South today.
Last week, the political atmosphere witnessed a remarkable development as political leaders, gladiators, stakeholders and supporters from different circles rallied around Hon. Mathew Oye Oyerinmade (MATO).
What was once seen as political support is gradually becoming a competition among the people: “If you don’t want to support MATO, please pave the way for me!”
Odi bi ’lo yago!
The growing acceptance of MATO is not happening by accident. It is largely a reflection of the relationships he has built and the positive impact of his engagements with people over the years.
MATO has touched several lives directly and indirectly. He has consistently demonstrated commitment to people-oriented initiatives and has stood with the APC at moments when the party needed support.
Today, MATO is increasingly becoming a household name across the Ondo South Senatorial District.
Those who already know him do not want to leave his political camp. Those who are yet to know him are seeking opportunities to get closer. And interestingly, people from other political camps are also beginning to show interest in identifying with his movement.
That is the power of goodwill.
Politics, they say, is about people. And when people voluntarily begin to identify with a political figure because of what they believe he represents, it signals that something significant is taking shape.
From Okitipupa to Irele, Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo and Odigbo, the conversation around MATO continues to generate attention.
The message from his growing supporters seems clear:
If you are not ready to go with MATO, please pave the way.
“ODI BI ’LO YAGO!”
The MATO political movement is no longer just about one man. It is becoming a gathering of people who believe in Competence, Capacity and Character.
And as the political journey towards 2027 continues, one thing is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore:
MATO has entered the conversation and the people are talking.
