Community Report: Vigilante Group of Nigeria Opens New Office in OkitipupaOKITIPUPA, ONDO STATE, July 18, 2026 – The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Okitipupa Local Government Chapter, has officially commissioned its new office, marking another milestone in community-driven security efforts within the council area.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the chapter leadership disclosed that the office project was completed entirely through the personal contributions of members of the organization, noting that no government support was received throughout the construction process.
The Commander of the Vigilante Group expressed appreciation to members for their commitment and sacrifice, describing the successful completion of the office as a testament to the group’s dedication to protecting lives and property across Okitipupa Local Government.
Representing retired General Olu Bajowa at the event, the Liha of Ayeka commended the initiative, describing the Vigilante Group of Nigeria as an important partner in strengthening the security architecture of Okitipupa Local Government. He noted that the organization’s aims and objectives align with the collective desire for a safer and more peaceful society.
He further encouraged residents to continue supporting community-based security initiatives, emphasizing that effective security requires collaboration between security agencies, local vigilante groups, traditional institutions, and members of the public.
The commissioning attracted community leaders, traditional representatives, security stakeholders, and residents who congratulated the Vigilante Group on the successful completion of the project.
